Market Appeal

In the USA, Le Mans type racing exist only at the highest levels. Over the past five year the popularity of Sports Car racing has fueled tremendous growth from teams and spectators through the country. Today, many teams and Driver would like to participate in prototype racing; however making the move from amateur to International levels of racing is extremely difficult logistically and financially. Therefore, many talented drivers and teams are unable to attain their full potential.

Conversely, open wheel racing within the United States, specifically, Open Wheel Racing Series (OWRS) and Indy Racing League (IRL) have a structured ladder system. Drivers and/or teams typically starts in Amateur (SCCA) racing followed by a yearly upward progression through various “feeder “ series and finally reaching the pinnacle with OWRS or IRL. This progression is extremely competitive both in terms of driver/team attrition and operating costs to move to higher levels.

The FWRSCC will fill a much need gape between the unstructured nature of prototype racing and the high attrition rate for open wheel racing. The format will blend high performance racing with tremendous exposure balanced by the need for complex racing strategies. This unique combination of attributes will draw upon teams and drives searching to “step up” to the next level.

To accomplish these aggressive goals, FWR has formed a wholly owned subsidiary, DiBiase Race Cars, Inc. to construct a prototype race car specifically for the FWRSCC. The ability to control a project from: concept/design, to engineering through manufacturing and finally rollout is extremely rare. The benefits can be quickly realized through reduced product cost, better control over quality and provide quick time to market as changes are needed.
